Menstrual Cycle and Menopause Coaching

Many women view their menstrual cycle solely as a signal of their reproductive health, overlooking the potential insights it provides into their overall well-being. By identifying subtle shifts in hormone levels and associated mood variations, we can detect early signs of perimenopausal, menopausal symptoms or other lifestyle influences impacting hormone balance. These issues can often be addressed through lifestyle adjustments, including improvements in nutrition, sleep habits, and exercise routines. 

 

Menstrual hormones are particularly sensitive to shifts in emotional and physical changes in stress, exercise and nutrition. There is a significant gap in research regarding women's training and the impact of the hormonal cycle on strength training. Increasingly however, new information is being revealed on this topic. With five years of experience as a personal trainer specialising in working with women, I have found that delving into research on the hormone cycle has not only enhanced my own well-being and body awareness, but has also empowered my clients. We work together to improve your sleep, hydration, energy levels, physiological and mental performance; following evidence-based research. For many women the shifting patterns in metabolism, strength and energy can feel confusing or like a set back, especially when following a resistance programme which fails to take these fluctuations into account. I regularly encourage clients to discuss their cycles as it can help us plan ahead and be prepared for cravings, energy dips and training highs. Recognising the importance of nutrition, I pursued qualifications as a nutritionist to offer comprehensive support to women by optimising their diet in conjunction with their training and sleep routines.  

 

This is why we've written specific nutrition and coaching programmes, not just for women looking to lose fat, but also for women who are already in pretty good shape but want to harness their hormones to improve their performance and health longterm. We have developed meal plans and choices based upon each micronutrient need in each phase of your cycle;  macronutrient splits designed with optimal substrate utilisation across each phase; evidence backed supplement advice and calculated dosages to help you perform at your best; meal plans designed to reduce PMS and fluctuating hormone symptoms, while boosting your energy levels. We include Personal Training programmes to improve muscle development and bone density. An unfortunate side-effect in menopausal women is the loss of muscle and increased risk of osteoporosis, so resistance training programmes will be beneficial to start at any age. We aim to empower all of our clients by finding enjoyment in strength training and giving them skills they can take forward without support In the future. Payments for this programme start from £597 for 90 day plans, which include regular check-ins and 24-7 access to support. Payment links are sent through once you have successfully registered and have been booked into our diary. If you would like to book onto the 90-minute consultation first, the fee for this is reduced from either of our 90-day plans if you sign up on the day.
